2025 Policies and their Effects on the Construction Industry
Since the beginning of his term, President Trump has been busy administering new policies in 2025. On January 20th Trump ordered our federal agencies to cease funding the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and Inflation Reduction Act. As of now, we do not have insight on which projects will be targeted specifically, however on the 27th of January congress members reached out to the executive branch requesting an itemized list of what programs will be put on hold.
What does this mean for contractors?
As many of our clients work on infrastructure projects funded by the state and federal government they must remain aware of what decisions of this policy will be enforced. With the upcoming decrease in federal grants, contractors should expect fewer bidding opportunities this year. This means each company will have to develop a more competitive approach for their bidding process. Current contracts and grants may be terminated possibly if they do not adhere to the administration's prerogative. Contractors are advised to consult with a professional about their legal rights and alter their cash flow management due to the projected loss of business.
