AI and Automation’s Role in Shaping Project Efficiency and the Construction Workforce

76% of infrastructure and civil builders admitted to not utilizing the full potential of their data. AI and automation are greatly impacting project efficiency in construction by eliminating inefficiencies. 46% of time lost/wasted is due to rework and the time spent locating data. Founder and CEO, Tooey Courtemanche, of Procore claims that ‘this is one of the most transformative periods in the history of construction”, noting  AI and automation technologies will be the catalyst in refining our collaboration, ability to solve problems, and overall way we build today. Technology will also play a big role in shaping the construction workforce as half of the workforce population is expected to retire in 10 years. Also, it was reported that 45% of laborers leave the industry due to burnout. The implementation of technology is expected to attract and preserve talent as well as combat the statistics.
